Golden Chariot Cake Shop in Sai Kung

A beautiful, sunny day in Hong Kong. Before setting off on our 40-minute hike to one of the most beautiful waterfalls and beaches I’d ever seen, we popped into this Hong Kong style bakery, called the Golden Chariot Cake Shop, in Sai Kung for some snacks to munch on at the beach. The array of stuffed breads and buns was a bit dizzying. Perhaps it doesn’t seem too prudent of me to select the tuna bun to carry in the 35 C heat for an hour before consuming it, but I thought it was the right choice. The tuna inside was moist, stringy but still plump, with a perfect amount of salt. The bun encasing it was pillowy light and slightly sweet. The perfectly airy, bikini friendly treat to chow on before hitting the waves.
